Li's Bake Sale (Updated)
Come one, come all, for it is time for another Bake Sale.
This bake sale will not actually feature baked goods, but the name is kind of sticking with me now.
What? Li is selling drawings and custom bean dolls to make up for lost cash.
Why? Last time, it was unfortunate circumstances, Weavesapalooza, and a sudden downturn in health that lost me work hours and cash. Today, I'm getting caught up on the Weavesapalooza things but holy WOW has my health crashed and burned out of absolutely NOWHERE and I'm having a horrible and inexplicable time with it. Doctor's in two weeks but I missed a couple days of work and am coming up on some hard times
Extended Why: Cards on the table, I am basically just getting by until February, when my biggest school loan payment is FINALLY paid off. Once that happens, I'm planning to move again. I cannot responsibly keep living in my beautiful one-bedroom apartment, but for mental health reasons, too, I can't keep living in Wichita. The smart thing would be to move in with my grandparents right now to start saving money, but in light of stuff that's happened with my mom and how my grandma reacts to me using depression and loneliness as a reason to hide from responsibility... ironically, that'd be the biggest reason I don't want to do that. I want to get by on my own, move out on my own, and take care of things - more or less on my own.
And if I could pay for that doctor's visit AND make rent in a couple of weeks, even better.
When? RIGHT NOW.
How? Take a look at my wares, Fair Followers.
Okay, so a quick rundown of possible FAQs: I CAN sell baked goods and knitted things at the moment, but this is difficult as I must now ask for payment upfront and shipping-payment after the item has been shipped. Baked goods is awkward because I need to buy things in bulk - I can't just buy the cup and a half of flour you need for your item, I have to buy an entire bag. So I can do this but it'll take some inventory-ing before we even get down to baking. If you're cool with walking through this with me, I am psyched to bake for you.
Baked Goods
* Oatmeal Bars
* Key Lime Cupcakes
* S'more Cupcakes
* Freedom Cookies
* Banana Cookies
* Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
And here's my special offer, folks. I have tentatively labeled this creation Shark Week Cupcakes. This is because these cupcakes are made with wheat flour, packed with strawberries, baked with a coating of sea salt for crunchy tops. The frosting is a mixture of cocoa, instant coffee (minimal - just for flavoring), powdered sugar, milk, and greek yogurt.
If you are NOT a lady on her monthly, there is possibly entirely too much flavor involved here. If you ARE a lady on her monthly, I can personally attest that you will eat as many as possible and it will heal all possible wounds.

The drawings I'm offering are limited, I know. What happened with that is that while I personally haven't free-hand drawn anything in ages, I just received my old high school portfolio filled with life drawings, quick sketches, etc. Just looking at a few of the poses, I immediately wanted to flesh some of them out as my own favorite superheroes - I'm happy to do it for any and all characters you can think of. This art is purely physical, no digital involved, and completed with a mixture of fine black pens and colored pencils. Examples will be shown below and sketch forms will be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Sorry, I already used the most hilarious one for Iron Man.
The beany dolls are a favorite invention that I actually did make up myself. They're made of felt, filled with poly-pellets and fluff, come with or without arms and legs. They don't have faces because I haven't come up with a good not-Uncanny-Valley way to do that just yet and don't want to creep everyone out. They are HELL OF FUN to play with and I don't skimp on the details or accessories. A basic doll, all costume details but without arms or legs, takes a solid eight hours to construct.
On the actual wares.
Sketches
All sketches will be fully colored and mailed, $10.00 each plus priority shipping in the US. Frames included for $2.00 extra.
Frames will not be uniform as I'll probably pick them up from Goodwill.
Example:
We start with a sketch. This one of a robust lady in an amusing pose.

Based on the pose, I block in the desired character. In this case, a cocky son of a bitch.

Color is added.

Et voila, one superhero, ready to make demands on you.

NOTE: There are NO gender restrictions on these sketches. They can all be tweaked to the character of your choice.
Beany Dolls
Nagunnalie, these are the ones I'm really excited about.
As stated, each doll is made of felt, hand-sewn, stuffed with fluff and poly-pellets. Faceless, yes, but I do my absolute best on the costumes.
PLEASE NOTE: Now that I've made a few for people, I'm having to adjust the prices on these. I am so sorry, but if I want this to help me at all, I'm going to have to balance out the time these take with how many I can actually make before bills are due.
$15.00 for a basic dolls, no arms or legs, full costume. $20.00 for arms, $25.00 for full body. These prices do not include shipping, all by priority mail within the US. Based on previous shipping, it should be $8.50. If the doll is over 3lbs, I can lower cost with a flat rate box for $11.50.
Any and ALL requests taken, though I may have to ask for your preferred reference pictures.
Examples:
Avatar: The Last Airbender, S1 Sokka

DC: Batman, Stephanie "Spoiler" Brown

Avatar: The Last Airbender, Toph

Marvel: Captain America

I have actually made others but they were given as gifts. I'll update with any pictures I can get of them.
This entry is PUBLIC as I understand that I'm asking for a lot right now: if you can't purchase anything at this time, I would appreciate some signal-boosting.
I am, as always, available for discussion by commenting to this entry or by emailing me at trelali at gmail dot com. I will also be doing my best to be available on AIM as "s4ndb0xg1rl."
Much obliged, folks. ♥
